POLICE WERE TOO AFRAID AND FILLED WITH FEAR TO ACT IN UVALDE SCHOOL

The police outside Uvalde Elementary school who did not storm the door were stopped by their own FEAR.

Period.
We all know the feeling of overwhelming terror when confronted with the need to act in a physically threatening situation.

Running into gunfire, whether you are alone or in a group, is action almost no individual will perform. It is human nature to be too terrified to do so no matter what the rules of your employment are.

However, one or more of the police standing outside that schoolroom for over an hour and not trying to go through the door is almost incomprehensible.

Out of 19 officers on the scene it seems at least one or more would have found the indefinable courage to charge the entrance.
If one or a few brave officers found the will to break down the door many lives probably could have been saved.
Rule 1 of becoming a police officer is be immediately willing to risk your life or to find another career if you are not ready.
That sounds good but is unworkable in the real world.

Police do not wake up ready to die. Groups of military fighters maybe are or fringe people and groups may be? Most of us want to be safe.
Yes.Look at the brave people of Ukraine. I get it. But, this I do not get.

Some random super courageous people react heroically instinctively anywhere. But, most people flee from danger and do not fight.

We all know "run into gunfire" are just words to except the most highly trained combat soldiers and fighters.
However, always being ready to go on a suicide mission is a crazy expectation.
But, how do the police who did not act ever live with themselves?
It is sad.
