Compulsive Gambling Devours Our Lives

Gambling. One of the nastiest monsters of the world. Feed it and it eats your soul. Starve it and it destroys you mind. To a real compulsive gambler the loss of gambling is good reason for perpetual mourning. Every ounce of desire in your body craves going back to gambling again. The adrenalin, the euphoria, the joy of knowing you will be in action is enough to inspire any gambler no matter how much they have lost. I am not just talking about lost money. I am talking about lost health, family, friends. Losing your whole life. I have gambled for over 50 years and lost it all. In the last few years i have quit gambling and slowly rebuilt my life. Yet, I continue to long for my greatest friend and unconditional lover. Gambling. I was a very big gambler betting on sports, craps, and blackjack. I would win or lose thousands of dollars a day. I figured out that I have lost well over a million dollars in my life. Enough to destroy me financially, mentally, and emotionally. Yet the monster inside my brain lives on unaffected. It says "you can do it David." You can set limits, avoid going out of control, and enjoy the happiness of being in action." My rational mind keeps speaking at the same time. "Go to a G.A. meeting David. You are getting false messages. You are doomed if you gamble. You know that." I do. But,the evil voice tears at my my heart and says "just do it. "You will do it right this time. It will be ok" The logical mind needs constant reinforcement to say no. The evil mind that is supported by emotion needs no nourishment. But it never is.

Blogger Dummy Gets Expert Help

I asked a blogging expert to give me some help on improving and understanding my blog. He helped me proving that anyone has a chance to learn how to blog because I am beyond a blogging dummy!!...

I'm an old school very computer illiterate and  horribly uneducated blogger who wants to ultimately become a good blogger.and build a big audience

I also want to figure out how this whole blogging thing works and see if I can make money at it. I like blogging but not if nobody is reading my stuff.. .

As you can see I have posted plenty of articles with next to no feedback or traffic for my efforts..

Matt Banner sent me this very useful and valuable analysis of my blog .I am already putting his easy to understand and pertinent information and tips to use..                 .

I asked him if I could publish his letter and he agreed..

I hope this helps someone else out there..

If you have thoughts or information you wish to share please send them in and there is a good chance I will publish them..

David.

Hi David,

I took a quick look for you. And although I certainly did not scour every inch of your website, I do have a few thoughts for you that may help:

1) It appears your current strategy for revenue is Google AdSense. While some blogs still use these ads, they certainly do not generate much revenue - not as much as they once did. Most bloggers who want to monetize their blogging efforts focus on promoting affiliate offers, or building an audience that they can direct to an offer they are promoting later. (Review 'Content Marketing' on Google)

2) A few posts back, you made an offer to buy comments. Taking this kind of approach may come across a little desperate to some readers. I would avoid this.

3) Having a fast and reliable server to host your blog can make or break it. You’re using a free website in Blogspot which certainly has its benefits, but doesn't possess everything you need in order to grow your blog because it’s not hosted by YOU.

Check out this article here for more on whether to use a free website service like Blogspot or making a small investment in a self-hosted blog

You can also see how important your hosting company matters here:

4) What are your current strategies for promotion? It appears that many of your articles haven't seen much exposure on social media.

5) Is there a way to narrow down the focus of your topics a little bit?

These are just a few general observations. I of course don't know all the specifics of your current blogging strategy. I offer a number of guides at that you might find useful.

I certainly hope that helps.

Perfect Online Dating Pick Up Line

As a veteran of online dating specifically match.com I will share my  best match pick up line. This line has to be delivered in an email to a man or woman you wish to get a response from.

It is short and to the point. If your recipient is interested then the door is wide open for that person to respond. If they do not respond you have wasted very time. You can even copy and paste it. Remember, online dating is a numbers game for us less attractive guys who have to rely on our brains.

The line you email is " I like your picture(s) and profile. Check me out and let me know what you think.

Good Luck

David
PS Let me know how you do

Good Looks Critical To Success On Online Dating Sites

Success on online dating services such as match and jdate is all about pictures. Just ask people who search for potential girlfriends and boyfriends. I know. My pictures stink so I have always had trouble getting responses. If my good looking, photogenic friends post on a dating site they get instant feedback.

Check it out. Send a message to a woman or man you are interested in. If they are good looking you are dead if you do not look good. Forget about your great profile information. It's all about your picture. Just like in high school. You are cool or you are not. The in crowd rules on the dating sites just like they rule just about everywhere else in social settings.

Prove it to yourself. If you are think you are not good looking do a test.. Send a message to a hot looking woman or man on a dating site. I don't care what their age is or yours.  It does not matter. After you get no response back check to if the person you aere intersted in viewed you. It's on the app to be able do that.  If the person viewed you odds are you were rejected because of your looks. Try it with 50 more people who are attractive. You will get mostly no responses or "no thanks yous".

Then, try sending  messages to some people who are not good looking. Bang. You will get  immediate responses. This applies to ages 21-80!!

So, waste your time on writing beautiful profile information if you want to.. It won't matter if you are not a stud. You will just keep getting rejected. You looks will beat you unless you get very lucky.

That is how it goes on online dating sites. Trust me. I am 66 and  have been at it for twenty years with hundreds of examples. It's easy for the good looking people to attract others just as it  always has been.

Its wickedly hard for those of us who are the ugly ducklings.

But, do not lose heart those of you who are not blessed with all American good looks. You can succeed. You will just have to try much harder. So what?

You are used to that!

Shane Best Cowboy Fight

The best fight scene I have ever seen in a movies was in the 1953  Paramount classic #"Shane" starring Alan Ladd , Jean Arthur, Brandon De Wilde and Ben Johnson.. The fight takes place in a bar between Ben Johnson and Ladd. It is so much more then great choreography. it is exciting as hell.

Ladd had earlier been embarrassed by Johnson in the same bar when Johnson threw drink at him without Shane responding making him look like a coward.. Shane was just meeting a new set of men who were all getting shoved around by Johnson and his group of evil me. They were being harassed by these guys for settling on the land of Rufus Ryker, their boss, who owned much of the adjacent land and didn't like the "squatters" to stay on the land they had claimed..

Shane, (Ladd) had originally gone to town and gone into the bar where all the bad guys hung out to buy a soda pop for little Joey De Wilde,, the son of the leader of the settlers played by Van Heflin  He had come to idolize #Shane who had drifted in and been staying with his mother and father and working for them.Van Hefflin was the leader of the settlers.

The men had all questioned Shane's courage after he allowed Ben Johnson to throw a drink at him without retaliating a while before at the local bar.. When Shane comes into the bar the second time with all the other settlers he intentionally confronted Johnson and this time throws a drink at him.

The fight is then on and in one of the most exciting, heart warming punch ups I have ever seen Shane beats the crap out of Johnson.Shanes use of his fists was terriffic. The fight expands to all of Johnson's bad guys joining in at which time Van Johnson jumps in to help Shane and they successfully wipe out all the other cowboys with their fists.

Little Brandon De Wilde, Heflin's son, watches wide eyed as he sees Shane kicking ass in the bar along with his father. The fight was so compelling and entertaining and gave Ladd instant credibility with all the guys who had questioned his courage.

He ultimately came back to the bar one more time when things had turned deadly and gunfighter Jack Palance had been brought in to kill Shane, Shane first fought with Van Johnson to keep him from coming to town to meet Palance, a trained gunfighter who Van Heflin would be no match for. He knocks out Van Johnson and goes to town and then kills Palance and Ryker ending the danger to Heflin and the other settlers.

He then rides away with a tearful Brandon De Wilde screaming at him to come back.
No one knows whether Shane had been shot or if he was unhurt as he rode away with frantic Joey crying and chasing him. and begging Shane to come back.
