WRITING A DOG TRUMP AND GAMBLERS ANONYMOUS

I have written a lot for a long time in my seventy one one plus years of existence. I have started novels, short stories, essays, autobiographies, screenplays. You name it. I have ground out a lot of words.

Unfortunately, all my words have gone in the junk heap. I do not know that I have ever written anything good. I really don't know yet if I can really write. My stuff has never being published other than on my pathetic blog.

I once owned a small business newspaper for which I wrote a weekly publishers opinion column, usually in the middle of the night some forty years ago.

Now, I am seventy one, divorced, with a big, loving family that is in great shape.  Fortunately, I have been very lucky so that in my twilight years I have ended up with almost no responsibilities other than walking my girlfriends little dog.

He is a five year old American Eski. I've fallen madly in love with him in the year he has been living with us in beautiful southern Florida. I never knew I could be so dedicated to a dog. He is my best friend.

So, here I go. Rambling. I thought I would write something political or about the coronavirus, or maybe how I have also fallen in love with playing pickle ball everyday.

Or, the many friends I have made since I moved here from Chicago.

But, I just listened to the CNN special on Trump and I am too aggravated to concentrate. So I am enjoying doing this stream of consciousness flash piece, or journal entry, or disconnected dialogue, or whatever it is.

I can do these all day. Just writing thoughtlessly is so much fun. No extensive editing, rewriting, or the torture of making what I am writing perfect.

Just writing perfectly imperfect for the joy is great.

Ah!!

There is just something so easy about informal writing versus edited  writing and all that that entails.

So, whoever you are out there let me know if you want to hear more from me.

Also, I am a compulsive gambler who has not gambled a penny for over eleven years. I would be dead, insane, or in jail if I did not stop.

Help is waiting 24/7

GOOGLE BLOGGER ADSENSE CODE IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME

I surrender. I will never figure out how to paste the Google Adsense code into my blog. I do not know how much money I have lost in the clicks I did not receive. I feel like Google ought to pay me for all the hundreds of hours I have spent over the years trying to figure out correct placement of the code. After all, my work has gone to readers all over the globe. I am valuable.

I can blame it on being an old, stupid, technically retarded 71 year old guy who just has no technological ability. I don't give a shit. I have had this very good but hidden Blogger blog for many years. I have posted over 300 articles on everything you can imagine.  I have written lots  about politics lately because I hate that miserable human scum bag by the name of Donald J. Trump.

But, before the world ended a few months ago I wrote mostly non-fiction articles on my personal experiences with family, business, ocd, sex, drugs, and a lot of other subjects. My life has been fascinating and the stuff of steamy novels and movies. Really. I am an unknown legend. Read me.

The point remains that I cannot figure out how to paste ad code into my blog. I still love to write despite my frustration at my small audience and the peanuts I have made from Adsense. My total earnings for life are one check for about $100.00 in return for all my years of pumping out articles.

Fuck it. That's ok if that is all I deserve for the quality of my writing. However, it just pisses me off to no end thinking that I should have developed a big audience and been a respectable blogger instead of the unimportant piece of wanna be blogger wall flower I am. All because it's seeminly impossible for me to learn ad code instructions.

It is not fair only but for the lack of knowing how to press a few computer buttons that a normal person could figure out in about 5 minutes I have been prevented from realizing much more success from kingdavidsplace.blogspot.com

I want Google Adsense to analyze my entire blog and pay me some amount. I should have made more money. They are geniuses. They can figure it out. I have tried all their support tools over and over to no avail. Google has spent money for much less worthwhile purposes than my value to their readers.

I do not care about Adsense community support, utube, help, or any other crap Google offers regarding pasting code. It does not help me. I am a friggin idiot but I have been a good blogger and loyal to Google.

I want to be compensated. You want me than pay me.

Thank you.
Sincerely,
David Stein

FREE TALENT WAITING TO WORK WITH YOU

Normally, I would take forever to start writing this article. I would check my blogger statistics, I would see if I earned any money in the last few days, (which I almost never do) I would jealously check out other successful blogs, or focus on anything other then getting to work and just writing.

Kinda stupid cause I love to write. I wish I knew I had talent. I have this blog with several hundred articles, and stories. It makes me feel worthwhile as a contributing human being that the world can gain something constructive from. But, I get so little traffic it is pathetic.

However, I just do not understand how to build an audience because I am too old and not computer literate enough to apply the necessary skills to get a respectable following. It is not Googles fault. They are aware of my problems. I am worth money and readership to Google and their advertisers who run ads on my blog. They send me reports and technical information including steps regarding adding code, widgets, links and all kinds of other shit to my blog.

I just cannot understand what Google AdSense tells me to do. I keep thinking that the sheer appeal of my blog will finally find an audience. So, I only write in this blog,  I go to tiny URL and make the headline small enough so I can put a teasing headline on Twitter to promote my latest blog article and then I post it on Twitter and hope some traffic will come charging to my blog.

I focus lately almost exclusively on my horrible feelings toward Donald Trump. I am very active on Twitter in commenting on Trump. I do have about five hundred people following me? I always think that one of my followers who has their own gigantic following will go to my blog and see something interesting that they could use for a story, a screenplay, a book, or anything else that might make me successful.

I do believe that life can change in a heartbeat. I used to gamble so I love the action and rush that writing in my blog can potentially create. Meanwhile, its Sunday morning in Chicago.  I sit in my little high rise apartment all alone. Not even a dog or goldfish. I am retired with very little money. I have wonderful kids and friends who are usually unavailable cause they are busy or married, or something.

So, I'm lonely, depressed, and  pretty much alone since I dumped my last girlfriend who I just could not get comfortable with and settle down with even after living together for several months. I am 70 and play senior softball several days a week in the summer which I love but now it's winter so I have been trying to find an airbandb in Florida where some of my softball  guys go to play in the winter. Discover me one of you people out there that see talent in me.

Blogger Dummy Gets Expert Help

I asked a blogging expert to give me some help on improving and understanding my blog. He helped me proving that anyone has a chance to learn how to blog because I am beyond a blogging dummy!!...

I'm an old school very computer illiterate and  horribly uneducated blogger who wants to ultimately become a good blogger.and build a big audience

I also want to figure out how this whole blogging thing works and see if I can make money at it. I like blogging but not if nobody is reading my stuff.. .

As you can see I have posted plenty of articles with next to no feedback or traffic for my efforts..

Matt Banner sent me this very useful and valuable analysis of my blog .I am already putting his easy to understand and pertinent information and tips to use..                 .

I asked him if I could publish his letter and he agreed..

I hope this helps someone else out there..

If you have thoughts or information you wish to share please send them in and there is a good chance I will publish them..

David.

Hi David,

I took a quick look for you. And although I certainly did not scour every inch of your website, I do have a few thoughts for you that may help:

1) It appears your current strategy for revenue is Google AdSense. While some blogs still use these ads, they certainly do not generate much revenue - not as much as they once did. Most bloggers who want to monetize their blogging efforts focus on promoting affiliate offers, or building an audience that they can direct to an offer they are promoting later. (Review 'Content Marketing' on Google)

2) A few posts back, you made an offer to buy comments. Taking this kind of approach may come across a little desperate to some readers. I would avoid this.

3) Having a fast and reliable server to host your blog can make or break it. You’re using a free website in Blogspot which certainly has its benefits, but doesn't possess everything you need in order to grow your blog because it’s not hosted by YOU.

Check out this article here for more on whether to use a free website service like Blogspot or making a small investment in a self-hosted blog

You can also see how important your hosting company matters here:

4) What are your current strategies for promotion? It appears that many of your articles haven't seen much exposure on social media.

5) Is there a way to narrow down the focus of your topics a little bit?

These are just a few general observations. I of course don't know all the specifics of your current blogging strategy. I offer a number of guides at that you might find useful.

I certainly hope that helps.

- Matt
